Vedat Akgun

Vedat Akgun, Ph.D. serves as the VP of Data Science & AI in the Marketing organization atTeradata. In his role, he uses his depth and breadth of experience in AI to plan, implement, andmanage Teradata's overall artificial intelligence marketing strategy and AI thought leadership incollaboration with other marketing functions and verticals across the company.Vedat Akgun has more than two decades of hands-on practitioner experience in AI deliveringactionable, intuitive, and impactful advanced analytical capabilities in major industries includingFinance, Telecommunications, Supply Chain, Pricing and Revenue Management, Retail, andTransportation & Logistics.His contributions in AI have been recognized and awarded by the Institute for OperationsResearch and Management Sciences (INFORMS). Dr. Akgun also taught master-level courses asan adjunct faculty at Northern Illinois University. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering witha specialization in Operations Research from the University at Buffalo.
