Craig Truempi is a leading Industrial IoT industry influencer, University Adjunct Professor of Graduate Programs and published author. He has held roles with increasing reponsibilities as the Head of AI and IIoT Digtal Ecosystems for a leading IoT Technology company , where he led the development and justification of a digital transformation projects including advising, designing, acquiring, deploying and capturing the as-built business value in financial terms. This role includes P&L responsibility, as well as, development of sales and technology for predictive analytics, visualizations and integration to maintenance and fleet optimization systems for both the AssetScan and TanksScan portfolios. Mr. Truempi is a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Reliability Leader (CRL), board member of the Upper Midwest Chapter of the Vibration Institute, and adjunct professor in data science at the graduate program of engineering at the University of St Thomas. Craig brings hands-on experience in process and manufacturing equipment including pumps, fans, compressors, turbines, conveyors, gearboxes, etc. He is proficient at troubleshooting equipment and systematic problems and architecting financially sound, software and hardware solutions to solve real world manufacturing challenges. He has been an active educator of end users on the application of artificial intelligence and IoT for predictive analytics and operational improvement. Craig has had multiple appearances on IBM’s Quick Bytes live, as well as, interviewed for Forbes magazine innovation blog. Mr. Truempi’s social media recognition was sparked after his quote on IBM Live, “Average AI is what you get from Average data”. Craig is a strong promoter of the “right” sensor data trumps “more” sensor data. Craig is a frequent contributor to magazines and blogs including: datascience.com, Pump and Systems, Wastes and Water, Uptime and others. A common theme in Craig’s messaging is, it does not have to be rocket science, and he often conveys, when AI is done right, you don’t know it is there. Mr. Truempi is a sought-after presenter, filling the rooms with his “no theories” just real-world case studies at technology conferences including, but not limited to: the connected plant, the reliability conference, the international maintenance conference, vibration institute, IoT Talk, IoT fuse, Pharma Tech OPS, Energy Generation Conference, Fuel ethanol workshop, and the Society of Maintenance and Reliability professionals. During his twelve plus years with Emerson, Craig chaired the North American reliability services team to accelerate services growth across 22 North American partners. He also, co-chaired the Emerson global advisory board for reliability software and products. During this time, Mr. Truempi managed the transition of multiple acquisitions including services and product distribution companies, as well as, advised Emerson during the transition of a newly acquired global reliability consulting firm. Mr. Truempi received his B.S. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from North Dakota State University and a M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota.
