About The Speaker

Eric Litt

Eric Litt built his career on solving complex business and technical problems by bridging multiple disciplines and building high performing teams of experts. He has worked for such prestigious organizations as General Motors, Caterpillar, Battelle Memorial Institute and Lincoln Electric Company as well as having been an independent consultant. Eric served as General Motors (GM) Chief Information Security and IT Risk Officer for over eight years and was responsible for the development and execution of GM's global, enterprise-wide Information Technology (IT) security strategy and for driving the implementation of security related programs into each region/business unit. At Caterpillar he was responsible for the development and operations of Caterpillar’s Digital Platform. He led Caterpillars first migrations to the cloud leveraging both Microsoft’s Azure, and Amazons AWS cloud services. Utilizing these services his team built a robust platform that ingests and manages customer, dealer, telematics data and the complete portfolio of service information. These initiatives covered the entire application lifecycle (development, test, integration, deployment, operations, and retirement) and significantly reduced the inefficiencies of the legacy on premise solutions. This was accomplished through consolidation, buying capacity on demand, application reconciliation, server elimination, and alignment of business processes with the supporting IT. Eric was OnStar’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) responsible for end-to-end Information Technology solutions, including development and 24x7x365 operations across the OnStar enterprise. He was the Executive Champion for the accelerated development and rollout of the telematic industry’s first portfolio-wide implementation of 4G/LTE. OnStar is the global leading provider of connected safety, security and mobility solutions using advanced information technology. Eric’s hobbies include boating, RC planes/helicopters, wood/metal working, heavy equipment operations, home building & renovations.
