James Bean

James brings 40 years of experience in communications technology, test and measurement, radio design, and digital transformation to his role as VP of AIOps for VIAIV Solutions. Beginning in the early 80’s as in Integrated Weapons Technician in the US Navy James received a strong foundation in electronics, communications , and weapons system operation and maintenance for the newest US Military aviation platforms. James participated directly in the Operational evaluation of the FA-18 and led the newly formed Integration Weapons Team to support all operational and maintenance requirements to keep the aircraft operational during the exercise and managed the team that was also responsible for the support of the A4, A7, and A6 aircraft electrical, communications, and weapons systems platforms. The introduction of the FA-18 represented one the earliest digital transformation projects with the migration to fully digital flight control, communication, and weapons delivery systems for the US military. That experience continues to contribute experience and informed insights related to the challenges his customers have and continue to face during significant technology transformations including Land Mobile Radio to Cellular communications, 2G to 3G, 3G to 4G and now the introduction of 5G and the migration to virtualized Software Defined Networks. Over the course of his career James has worked for several industry leading technology companies in the test and measurement and Network and Service enablement domains including: Allen Telcom, Ericsson, Racal Instruments, Aeroflex, Anite, Tektronix Communications, Trendium, JDSU, VIAVI Solutions In his current role James is responsible for supporting VIAIV Solutions customers understand and solve the many challenges associated with the 5G SA and Digital transformation in the Telco space working with all the major Tier 1 Telco providers to identify and implement the solutions that best address these new challenges.
