Salim Sawalha

Salim Sawalha joined Jordan Commercial Bank in early 2016 as the Chief Retail Officer, Assistant General Manager. He is committed to transforming the Bank into a digital and customer-centric financial solution provider. Before joining JCB, Salim was the Country Manager for Visa in Jordan, Iraq, and Palestine working to enable consumers, businesses, and banks to use electronic payments. Salim has around 20 years of experience in the financial services sector and has worked in leading local banks in Jordan and large institutions in the US like Wachovia Bank (now Wells Fargo) and Washington Mutual (now Chase Bank). His early start however was as an aspiring entrepreneur founding a janitorial company called Shine Business Team in the San Francisco Bay Area that he later sold to his partner. Riding the wave of technology and e-commerce boom, Salim also launched a health and beauty online store selling Dead Sea products. When he is not fully occupied by work, Salim does part-time training and workshops at several schools and universities, educating students on management, leadership, financial education, and marketing. He is a certified mentor in the Tamweelcom mentorship program, sharing his knowledge and expertise on start-ups with budding entrepreneurs. He is also a board member of First Investment Group and is on the board of Trustees of Injaz. Salim holds a double major MBA in Marketing and Small Business from California State University, East Bay, USA. He is also a Certified Management Accountant and a member of The Association of Accountants and Financial Professionals in Business and has earned several professional certificates in Digital Transformation and FinTech from world-renowned institutes like Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden.
