Sumaiya Noor

Sumaiya has over 10 years of experience in Talent/Human Resources, Digital Transformation and Product Management, with over 5 years in senior management positions. She is currently leading Talent and Digital Transformation at a North American SaaS/Fintech company and has recently worked in a senior HR role with a start-up based in Toronto. Prior to that she was Head/Director of HR and Digital Transformation with a group of companies in the PropTech industry. She has also worked with Telenor and enabled them with their digital transformation after working with IBM in a regional (Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa) Technology Mergers and Acquisitions (M&As) role responsible for 50+ countries. Earlier, she has been in 3 global HR/Talent roles at a Fortune 50 company like IBM while being based in Canada, USA, Europe, Asia and Africa. Sumaiya has also led Product Development and Design teams earlier in her career. She has a unique blend of experiences with multinationals as well as technology start-ups. In addition, Sumaiya has a relevant academic background with a Bachelor of Software Engineering, MBA and specialization (MS in Business Strategy and HR) from USA as a Fulbright Scholar. She is also an INSEAD certified Digital Transformation and Entrepreneurship Consultant. She is currently serving as an Advisor to Harvard Business Review (HBR) for their Talent, Digital Transformation and Product publications and she is also part of Advisory Council for Toronto Newcomer Council to provide input for city’s newcomer strategy Outside work, Sumaiya is a staunch supporter of women and human rights, education and health for underprivileged individuals and diversity, equity and inclusion. She loves travelling, learning new things especially technology and history, meeting people from diverse backgrounds and experiencing new cultures.
