Tasneem Hajara
Tasneem Hajara is the Head of Digital Technology at TIAA. In this role she leads Digital Distribution, Marketing, Content Management, Mobile, Chatbot and Advice technology. Tasneem is an innovative, entrepreneurial, highly curious and results-oriented technology leader with vast expertise identifying and delivering unrealized value to transform businesses with technology. During her eleven-year tenure at TIAA, she has led Insurance, Banking, Brokerage, IRA and B2B Retirement Digital Technology. Tasneem successfully built TIAA’s Robo Advisor platform and the enterprise mobile strategy. She has successfully forged several strategic partnerships with Fintech firms to drive innovation through her work as a partner to New York’s Fintech Innovation Lab. She is also leading TIAA’s Client Tech Labs partnering with Universities who are TIAA’s clients with a focus on driving their employee engagement towards securing a sound Retirement for them. She is also a Board member for the Association for Women in Science. Background Tasneem Hajara has successfully led Digital and Product technology teams across various domains during her career. She leads with a broad lens on customer delight, product and platform strategy, as well as operational efficiency. Consistently recognized for execution, creative ability, thought leadership, innovation and out-of-the-box thinking. Prior to her time at TIAA, Tasneem spent ten years at Merrill Lynch, grew in the organization and was head of Retirement and Advice Digital Technology. She led the implementation of Merrill’s first Retail Brokerage Mobile application and was awarded Merrill’s most prestigious President’s award for her innovative work on an Advisor facing platform for Merrill’s Products and Solutions. Tasneem began her career at a startup in India focused on building Platform migration tools. Tasneem was recognized by the startup very early on in her career and received their prestigious award as their most valuable employee. Tasneem moved to the United States and led a Y2K effort and migration of the Mortgage platform for Minnesota Housing Finance Agency. She also served as the board member for Westrick Music Academy, a non-profit which fosters creativity and growth in the minds of young girls.
